For the Future and For Today

Dr. Cristal Glangchai and her non-profit organization VentureLab started with the goal of empowering girls at a young age, before society tells them that women aren’t engineers, mathematicians, scientists, etc.

Since its foundation, VentureLab has put thousands of girls through their summer camp programs and their elementary school courses—and that was only the beginning. Teaching entrepreneurship was so effective in unleashing girls’ confidence and ingenuity that parents of boys requested opening this program up to them as well, and VentureLab now has courses for girls and boys of all ages.

VentureLab offer a free and open-source youth entrepreneurship curriculum that is fun, innovative, and can easily be implemented by teachers, community leaders, parents, or anyone else interested in being a champion for kids’ learning.

Entrepreneurship is a short, amazing word that says everything it’s about: vision, creativity, innovation, initiative, persistence, risk and fear tolerance, collaboration, resilience, and determination—in just 5 syllables.

Your child, and every child, should have a chance to be empowered by entrepreneurial training—and learn not just the robust lessons of entrepreneurship, but how to hold onto their 5-year-old creative genius and never let it go. Early entrepreneurship training should be a part of elementary core curriculum everywhere.

“We have to teach kids—and girls, in particular—at a young age, before they have preconceived notions of what girls or boys should do. I want to teach them at a young age to have confidence that they can create things, and yes, even create their own company. I want to teach them to have the courage to get in front of an audience and show their accomplishments.”

—Dr. Cristal Glangchai, Founder of VentureLab

Entrepreneurship training is our tool, unmatched in its ability to show students their born strengths. Giving them the mindset and heartset to dream, dare, and do—that is our story, and the VentureGirls advantage.

By the end the girls were so much more confident in being able to present a project to working groups which was a lot of things they had never done before. It was really awesome to see how they were able to grow not only just academically but as a person as well and have more confidence, be willing to try new things was a really big thing for our girls because a lot of them don't want to venture outside of their little comfort zone.

When I approached VentureLab, I didn't expect for us to get this much from them. The staff at VentureLab have done instruction, have done direct lesson delivery. They have been mentors to some of our teachers that can keep some of those programs going, so initially, you know, that's not what I expected when I went to VentureLab and I just feel like we got so much more.
